Hi! My name is Asja, and I've had the chance to dive into various fields of design.
I started with motion design and UI, working as a freelance motion designer while studying at HTK (Laureate Academies) in Hamburg.
I then had a short but impactful experience at the design agency Mutabor in Hamburg. While I can't show any work from there, I was part of the Spatial Communication team and realized I have a passion for space design and spatial installations.
I moved on to specialize in UI design and started working at Xing in Hamburg.
Here I worked with agile multidisciplinary teams across different clusters.
For Growth cluster I worked closely with a UX designer and created a new registration and onboarding experience.
People Network aka Contacts section needed a whole new redesign to match a new design style and guidelines. During that redesign I contributed and worked with Design System, where I identified missing components and patterns and created design solutions for it, as well as created a new icon set of 100+ icons.
Customer acquisition project allowed me to work on the filter and tagging system, as well as redesigning the whole tool to match a new design style.
For the majority of projects I created responsive web and corresponding designs for native apps (iOS, Android).
Also did design QA in close collaboration with QA engineers, collaborated with other UX designers and engineering teams to align user experiences across all of the products, participated in user testings, as well as concepted and executed UI animations and handed them over to developers.
I also facilitated and took part in design critique sessions and created marketing visuals based on existing illustration style.
Participated in Xing’s Hackathon weeks.
At the same time, I discovered generative art and found that I could combine design and motion with creative coding. I was a co-organizer of a creative coding meetup for a bit in Hamburg before moving to Berlin.
I got to participate in JSConf EU 2019 in Berlin, where I did a VJ set with my generative art made using p5.js
While working at Xing, I discovered my love for creating icons (tiny logos that I've always enjoyed making)

as well as illustrations (both 2D and 3D). Afterward, I worked as a freelance illustrator for a while.
My 3D illustration was published in the graphic novel “Mein Leben unter Ludwig II” by Miguel Robitzky!
The project I am most proud of is Sustainatable. In one week I co-developed the concept, designed the game UI, and programmed the entire game in Processing during a workshop on Designing Interactive Spaces at CIID Copenhagen in cooperation with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
We aimed to create a spatial game that encourages players to work together to achieve the goal. It was incredibly rewarding to see and hear UN workers laughing while test-playing our game.
In my design free time, I put my thoughts and feelings into contemporary art pieces and music.
